The second-hand marketplace Users Voice Anger Regarding Size Modifications
Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused items being listed as the wrong size.
The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Digital Channels Reaction
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.
Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.
They have suggested members to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Updates
Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Platform Context
The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
